Back from the Void & contemplating changing teams.

This entry is the first in quite a while as the main part of my non-footie life, comics, has become a more encompassing enterprise. Thus my former endeavor, extremely minor soccer media type, faded away...and I am all right with that. Now a development has occurred that may effect my footie life - the start up of MLS' third try in Los Angeles, the tentatively named LAFC. I am seriously considering changing teams should to this new team for following reasons: 1) Ownership of the Los Angeles Galaxy - Philip Anschutz is the dictionary definition of an oligarch who's support for troglodyte conservatives (particularly those whom shill for extraction industries) makes supporting any enterprise with his fingertips involved tricky. Whom his lackeys do business with leads to reason number 2. 2) Los Angeles Galaxy shirt sponsor - Herbalife is a legalized scam, as MLM (multilevel marketing)is such. It is no coincidence that I have refused to buy any Galaxy merchandise advertising those crooks. I will not advertise for these crooks ever. 3) Location of stadium - Indications are that LAFC's purpose-built stadium will be where the LA Sports Arena now stands. Said locale will make the game day experience an easier undertaking for me as that site is already on Metro's Expo, which should be complete and running north of my 'hood in Venice in Santa Monica by the time LAFC kick off. StubHub Center, on the other hand, is a trip that must be undertaken by automobile, and the return trip has a proclivity for traffic congestion. A Euro style game day experience of taking light rail to a game and home is much more attractive than what a trip to Galaxy home currently is. Now, of course, the onus is on LAFC to win me over. Several of my friends whom transferred their loyalties from the Galaxy to the Chivas USA fiasco have already done so. I could never go for Chivas because of what their parent club is and represents. Let the games begin.
